5th Int’l Kite Festival 2014 opens

(Cinet)- The 5th International Kite Festival 2014 will take place in Vung Tau city in the southern province of Ba Ria-Vung Tau from May 8-12.

The 5th International Kite Festival 2014 is an event of culture and tourism in Ba Ria-Vung Tau to honour a traditional culture and a tourism product of locality in many past years.

Scheduled activities include a kite exhibition at Intourco Hotel, foreign artisans’ training course on making kites, Rokkaku Kite competition, and flute kite contest along the Thuy Van-Paradise beach.

The fifth International Kite Festival is expected to welcome 75 artisans from 29 countries and territories around the world, along with 80 artisans from the host country.

The 5th International Kite Festival will be held to maintain and uphold traditional cutural features, provide wholesome and civilized social environment which play role as base for social-economic development. On the other hand, the festival also improve cultural events to be special tourist products that enrich activities of local tourism. The festival is also a cultural bridge between countries and an opportunity for the business community to introduce and promote their trademark at home and abroad.

The festival will take place at Bien Dong (East Sea) Resort, Vung Tau tourism market, Paradise golf course, and the grounds of the administrative centre in Ba Ria city.
