A Made-in-Thailand outlet fair kicked off in Hanoi on April 24, with the participation of 100 Thai companies and exporters.
At 120 booths, the businesses are showcasing their high-quality products, mainly food, beverages, household utensils and jewellery.
This is the second time this kind of fair has been held in Hanoi in 2014, following an earlier event in January.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, Pham Thi Hong Thanh, deputy head of the Asia-Pacific Market Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, highly valued efforts by the two countries’ businesses to boost two-way trade.
This kind of the event, which has been organised in Vietnam for seven years, offers a good chance for Thai companies and exporters to further access the Vietnamese retail market.
The fair will remain open to visitors to April 27.
In 2013, two-way trade between Vietnam and Thailand enjoyed a year-on-year increase of 10 percent to 9.4 billion USD.
The two countries have set a target of bringing this figure to 20 billion USD by 2015.-VNA
