To celebrate the 210th anniversary of Thanh Dong’s foundation and the 60th anniversary of the city’s liberation (October 30, 1954 – 2014), Hai Duong city has planned to organize four large-scale sports tournaments.
Those are Open Hai Duong City Clubs Football Tournament, Open Hai Duong City Clubs Table-tennis Tournament, Traditional Martial Arts Festival, and Hai Duong City Collective and Long-distance Running Tournament (open).
The sports tournaments will lure about over 7,000 athletes of various age groups, including more than 2,000 athletes aged 7 – 15 in Nhat Nam and Vovinam martial arts.
The big-scale sports tournaments will take place at the provincial Gymnasium, Doc Lap square, and the city’s central stadium.
To well perform the preparation, Hai Duong city will rearrange and repair the central stadium with a total area of 1.200m2; mend and decorate the system of walls surrounding the stadium and stand A; make a propaganda board with a stainless supporting system to hang above stand B and such auxiliary items as lighting electricity, tables, chairs, banners, slogans, roofs, running tracks, parking lots, etc. with a total planned investment of over VND300 million.
The Hai Duong city’s central stadium is expected to have a capacity of around 20,000 people after the renovation.
