Da Nang boosts MICE tourism

(Cinet)- A seminar entitled “Promote the Development of Da Nang’s MICE Tourism” took place at the Muong Thanh Da Nang Hotel located at 962 Ngo Quyen Street on March 30.

The event, which was organised by the city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, was part of a programme to welcome a famtrip of representatives from 20 prestigious travel agencies in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City. The purpose of their visit is to survey the city’s tourism products, as well as to promote MICE tours linking northern and southern localities to Da Nang.

MICE is a fascinating market. It requires high professionalism and creativity. Danang has the advantage of being well-known as a harmonious and peaceful city with convenient transportation and relatively completed infrastructure. Therefore, to develop this type of tourism, make Danang becomes “the City of Event”, in addition to self-upgrading, completing the infrastructure, service quality and enhancing human resources, the city also needs to increase the promotion, maintain good relationships with the local, overseas organizations and individuals. The friendly and cooperative environment of international relations itself would be one of the reasons to attract the attention of event organizers.

The participants discussed ways to fully tap the potential of the city’s MICE tourism. Top priority will be given to building effective MICE tourism promotion strategies, as well as to developing unique tourism products to stimulate spending by MICE visitors. Moreover, local travel agents will offer attractive MICE tours liking the city to its neighbouring localities, as well as training more tour guides. Special attention will be paid to developing more evening entertainment activities. These developments are expected to make this seaside city an ideal MICE destination in the near future.

Along with the country’s international integration, Danang’s foreign affairs have been intensively focused. Annually, the city welcomes and works with about 100 delegations, including many heads of states, governments, the local authorities, ambassadors, consulates and business people.
