Children’s leisure centers hit the jackpot

VietNamNet Bridge – One of the most visible shortcomings in urban Vietnamese society is the severe lack of space for children to play. In major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh, public playgrounds are a rarity.

Recognizing this unfulfilled need, commercial interests are, in an accelerating trend, stepping in to fill the void.

The January opening of Vietopia, which bills itself as an “amusement & education park” for children in HCM’s District 7, attracted the attention of parents in the city. Vietopia’s owner, Himlam Vikid, says that VND520 billion was spent to develop the park, which covers an area of 22 hectares.

Just a month earlier, KizWorld, developed as a home education-amusement park for children aged 3-16, was opened for business. The complex covers an area of 5,500 square meters on the campus of Parkson Flemington, a shopping center in District 11.

Most recently, parents in HCM have learned of the opening of tiNiTown, part of the tiNiWorld education-amusement system. According to Nkid, owner of the system, tiNiTown is the largest center of the tiNiWorld sites. Covering an area of 2,800 square meters, it is located in the Aeon An Phu shopping center.

The investor has revealed that it is preparing to open another amusement center, possibly on the third floor of the Nam Do Complex in the Hoang Mai District of Hanoi. .

And rumors abound that a new “big name” will soon appear in HCM City – VinKC (Vin kids center), a brand of Vingroup, a giant in the real estate sector. VinKC is expected to be set up its play center at Vincom B shopping center in HCM’s District 1. A similar center has already opened at Vincom Mega Mall Times City in Hanoi.

Analysts note that the education-play centers all have a similar model. They not only offer places for children to play and entertain themselves, but also serve as well-equipped education centers. They can also satisfy parents’ needs for shopping or healthcare advice.

That said, different centers target different customers, and with different kinds of services, according to Nguyen Que Anh, General Director of Himlam Vikid, .

Vietopia, developed at a cost of VND520 billion, is an amusement complex. Children come there to play the roles of firefighters, emergency physicians, forensic doctors, astronauts, automobile design experts, and other professions.

Kizcity, capitalized at a relatively modest VND40 billion, is situated within the Khanh Hoi Park in District 4.

Also according to Anh, the models of organization and operation determine the operating costs of the play centers, which range from hundreds of millions to billions of dong per month.

…and parents

In fact, the opening of children’s play centers has been applauded not only by the “little clients” but also by their parents.

These centers allow parents, who are busy with their jobs as office workers or businessmen, to have time to relax while their children entertain themselves in a safe way.

Injecting money in children’s play centers is considered a wise investment for now. It can bring large profits to investors thanks to the high demand. Meanwhile, it can help busy parents and their children relax and spend money well.
