— Criminal charges have been filed against people involved in the collapse of Chu Va 6 suspension bridge in the northern province of Lai Chau in late February that claimed eight lives and injured 36 others, local police announced on Tuesday.
— Nguyen Thi Thu Thuy, chairman of People’s Committee of Tay Ninh northern province, on Tuesday slapped 30-day suspension from work on Tran Canh Lac, general director of Tay Ninh Sugar Limited Company – a local firm. Lac has been charged for “intentionally violating state regulations on economic management, causing serious consequences”.
— An appeal court in Hanoi on Tuesday continued proposing to uphold the death sentence for Duong Chi Dung, former chairman of the Vietnam National Shipping Lines (Vinalines), and Mai Van Phuc, former CEO of Vinalines.

— Vietnam’s first-ever national festival honoring “Don Ca Tai Tu” (southern traditional music) held in the southern province of Bac Lieu, which wrapped up on Tuesday night, attracted more than 300,000 visitors. Don Ca Tai Tu was recognized by the UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity late last year.
