Binh Duong urged stronger administrative reforms

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has suggested southern Binh Duong province piloting a model of administrative procedure reform, which could be later duplicated nationwide.

Since 2013, Binh Duong has applied the one-stop shop mechanism thoroughly and put into use a concentrated administrative centre, to improve the transparency of its administrative apparatus.

Over the past five years, Binh Duong has made remarkable contributions to the country’s overall development, Phuc said at his April 14 working session with the provincial authorities on administrative reforms, the fight against crime, smuggling and trade fraud, and socio-economic development.

He urged the province to seek to ensure a proper and sustainable economic structure in the context that foreign-invested enterprises account for a high proportion of the local economy.

The province needs to promptly resolve shortcomings in the prevention and control of crime, AIDS, drug, prostitution, as well as smuggling and trade fraud, strictly following higher-level directions and strengthening popularisation and education, especially among young workers, Phuc said.

It should work harder to make a roadmap for it quickly becoming a centrally-run city, he noted.

The province has proposed to connect its localities at all levels and the central level by a single software system to evaluate the level of satisfaction of residents on the reform of administrative procedures.-VNA
