Party Secretary Vo Van Thuong and PPC Chairman Cao Khoa presented the Resolutions to local representatives
In the morning of March 25th, Quang Ngai Provincial People’s Committee held the announcement of the Resolution No.123/NQ-CP dated December 12th, 2013 by the Government on the adjustment of Quang Ngai city’s administrative boundary.
Accordingly, the two districts of Son Tinh and Tu Nghia’s communes shall be merged into the city of Quang Ngai for its expansion to meet the need of socio-economic development of the province.
Addressing at the announcement, the PPC chairman, Cao Khoa informed the local people and participants the outstanding changes being occurred across the hometown of Quang Ngai. He also confirmed the inevitability of the boundary expansion for the comprehensive and sustainable development of the city.
As prescribed in the Resolution, 09 Son Tinh district’s communes of Tinh An Tay, Tinh An Dong, Tinh An, Tinh Long, Tinh Chau, Tinh Thien, Tinh Khe, Tinh Hoa and Tinh Ky and 03 Tu Nghia’s communes of Nghia Ha, Nghia Phu and Nghia An will be included in the administrative boundary of Quang Ngai city.
After adjustment, Quang Ngai city covers 09 wards and 14 communes with the total area of over 16,015 hectares of natural land (up 4.31 times), and with the population of more than 260,252 (increasing 2.27 times).
