According to the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), the criteria used to select these 100 businesswomen included not only the performance of their companies but also their corporate social responsibility.
Speaking at the ceremony, VCCI Vu Tien Loc said that female entrepreneurs, accounting for one fourth of the country’s total businesspeople, have reaped success in many sectors of the economy.
The Yellow Rose Cup is recognition of their tireless efforts in managing their enterprises, especially during a time of economic difficulties, Loc added.
Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan sent a congratulatory letter to the honoured businesswomen, saying that they are the bright yellow roses of the economic garden, as the name of the award suggests.
Earlier on February 28, these outstanding businesswomen had a meeting with President Truong Tan Sang where they briefed the president on their achievements and voiced their proposals to remove obstacles facing the businesswomen community.
