It is preferential for high level experts on nuclear energy Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh assigned Ministry of Science and Technology in coordination with Ministry of Interior and the related Ministries to research and build priority policies to attract highly qualified professionals who work in the field of atomic energy, service directly projects for nuclear power and atomic energy filed in general.

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, in 2013, our country had 792 officers with tertiary qualifications working in 40 different expertise areas in the field of nuclear energy, in which, human resource served development of nuclear power were 300 people, while the number of the expertise staff in technology, reactor safety and nuclear power plant were about 100 people.


Compared with actual needs, manpower of atomic energy industry is short of both quantity, expertise structure and level in 5 areas of activity, such as research and development; nuclear power and applications of radiation, radioisotopes, state management; training.


The latest report of the Ministry of Science and Technology on the manpower needs in the field of atomic energy will need up to 4355 people to 2020, private nuclear sector need 2,850 people, of which, some expertise officers in technology, reactor safety and nuclear power plant are about 1,600 people.


The government has spent about 2,000 billion VND from the state budget for the training of scientists in the field of nuclear power from the college and university to postgraduate training as well as experts in related fields.


In addition, Vietnam Electricity Corporation spent 1,000 billion VND from the budget of the Corporation to train technicians and operators of nuclear power plants.
