DA NANG (Biz Hub) — The Duc Manh joint-stock company and Japan’s Nikken Sekkei have signed a deal on cooperation and development of an industrial park for Japanese businesses in Da Nang city.

According to the agreement, Nikken Sekkei will provide consultancy in the investment policy and planning of a 100-hectare industrial park for Japanese investors in the city.

The joint-venture project will be constructed with a total investment of US$150 million, providing land and infrastructure for Japanese investors.

According to an official from the Duc Manh company, the city has planned the project to lure large investments from Japan in the coming years.

He said that Nikken Sekkei would seek more Japanese investors to join in the project.

As scheduled, the project would commence next month.

A direct flight service between Da Nang and Narita in Japan will be launched in July.

Last year, Da Nang drew 241 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects worth US$3.3 billion, of which Japan has 60 projects worth $350 million.

Exports from Japanese enterprises accounted for 37 per cent of the city’s total imports, while 30 per cent of the city’s industrial production value comes from Japanese FDI projects.
