(Cinet) – Project on maintaining and developing some values of Xoan singing with a total expense of 165 VND billion was approved in late 2013 by the PM. The Project is a foundation to build Plan for maintaining and developing some values of Xoan singing arts.
Xoan singing has existed for more than 2,000 years since Hung Kings dynasty. So all old Xoan songs originated from ancient villages in the center of Van Lang nation (now Phu Tho Province), after spread out the villages in the two banks of Lo and Hong rivers. Four old Xoan guilds are An Thai, Phu Duc, Kim Doi and Thet in two communes of Kim Duc and Phuong Lau (Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province).
The project is divided into two main periods. Phu Tho will focus on training some artisans and teach Xoan singing in a community; promoting a collection of some Xoan songs. Also, establishing Center for maintaining and developing some values of intangible cultural heritage and worshipping Hung King to promote and honour some values of Xoan singing to the publuc and international friends.
In 2016-2020 periods, Phu Tho will focus on investing into maintaining 5 relics in some Xoan clubs in Viet Tri city; restoring some festivals and Xoan rituals to build a cultural space of Xoan singing and Hung King’s worshipping.
Also, restoring some relics in some Xoan singing clubs for some relics has been developed. Also, the province also increases more role and responsibility for some levels and agencies to develop some values of the heritage.
