Nhan Dan – Construction of a ‘youth village’ began yesterday in Muong Khuong district, Lao Cai province, with a ceremony hosted by the province’s Youth Union.


The Lung Vai youth village, with a total investment of VND55 billion (over US$2.58 million), is the second of its kind in Lao Cai province. When completed in 2018, the area including schools and medical facilities, aims to provide housing for 160 young families from the Dao, Mong, Nung ethnic groups in the area.


It is also expected to create jobs for 300 regular workers and 200 temporary workers in the area.


Nguyen Dac Vinh, First Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the provincial authorities, attended the ceremony to mark the beginning of construction
