Science – Technology creates motivation to promote agricultural, rural development

To promote scientific – technological development (Science and Technology) that creates motivation to speed up sustainable development of agriculture, rural areas and farmers in 2013, Hong Dan District Party Committee issued action program No 24. Content focused on strengthening the intelligentsia, consolidating the organizational structure of district Council of Science and Technology that is more likely to access to new scientific knowledge, timely responses to the needs of the market-oriented economic socialism and international integration.

In 2013, Hong Dan district implemented project for building freshwater aquaculture production process in acid soil salinity of the district with a total budget of over 1, 6 billion VND. In 2013 – 2014, Hong Dan district also implemented experimental project for model of 2 rice crops – 1 shrimp crop for the rice – shrimp area where has low salinity from 4-6 %, farmers previously produced 2 shrimp crops – 1 rice crop inefficiently. After a year of implementation, the project initially brought high efficiency. Summer-autumn rice crop in 2013, the average yield achieved 4 tons / ha, profits gained from 10-15 million VND / ha. Expectedly, the district will conduct to implement this pattern around 3,000 ha to help farmers increase their income, sustainable economic development.


Besides, in 2013, Hong Dan district’s leaders also directly promoted and called for Korea investors to breed commercial eels and process eels in the district. Following the plan, South Korean businesses will invest in a processing plant in the district with an area of ​​10 hectares, the processing capacity of 5 tons / day. This is a first international cooperative program of the district, opens a new direction for local development.
