Hai Duong city and the districts of Thanh Ha, Nam Sach, Ninh Giang, Cam Giang, and Tu Ky on the morning of February 17 simultaneously held the first soldier delivery ceremonies in 2014.
The province leaders attended the ceremonies and encouraged the military recruits about to join the army in the localities.
The province this time handed over 1,400 youngsters to nine connection bases.
The quality of the recruits this time was higher than previous enlistment spells in both health and education level, according to the provincial Military Command’s assessment.
Among 270 young people enlisting in the army in Thanh Ha district, 14 had written voluntary applications, the highest-ever number of youngsters voluntarily joining the army in a single year in the district.
There were many new features in the military recruitment of Nam Sach district this year, especially a number of communes, such as An Binh and Thai Tan, facing difficulties in the enlistment in previous years but accomplishing the task this year with ensured quality.
In Hai Duong city, 19 out of 160 rookies were children of officials or Party members and over 86% of the recruits had senior high school degree or higher.
Tu Ky was the leading unit in the province in the number of recruits with secondary school, college, or university degrees with 21 out of 280 people joining the army this time.
Ninh Giang district delivered 260 rookies, of them more than 60% were in excellent health condition, most had senior high school degree or higher.
Cam Giang district handed over 210 recruits of 19 communes and district town and one enterprise, Cam Binh Footwear JSC., to five connection bases.
At the soldier delivery locations, leaders of the province, Military Region 3, and localities thoughtfully asked after, encouraged, presented flowers, and wished the recruits to continue bringing into play the heroic tradition of the Vietnamese People’s Army and the fatherland, actively study, practice, and excellently complete assigned tasks.
The province leaders required more care, training, and help from the units receiving soldiers so that the local youngsters would quickly improve and grow up.
Despite the rain, the first soldier delivery ceremonies in 2014 were organized formally in compliance with procedures. Many people participated in the ceremonies and saw the rookies off.
By 9 am, six localities in the province had finished the handover of 1,400 recruits to seven units of the Defense Ministry and two units of the Military Region 3, ensuring sufficient norm and quality and absolute safety.
