The contestants selected historical figures and events from the 10th century to the August 1945 Revolution for their works, focusing much on historical figures born in or associated with Hai Duong, such as Khuc Thua Du, Yet Kieu, Nguyen Trai, Tran Hung Dao, Bui Thi Hy, Tue Tinh, etc.
The thoughts and contents of the entries praised talented and virtuous people, men of great intelligence and benevolence, national heroes, etc.
The provincial Literature and Art Association awarded prizes to seven winners.
