Nhan Dan Online – The new building of the National Assembly at 22 Hung Vuong Street, which has been under construction since September 2009, is expected to be finished in August 2014.
The announcement was made on February 1 while Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung paid a Tet visit to workers and officials who are on duty at the construction site.
According to the project’s Management Board, construction is currently right on track, and is continuing through the Tet holiday with the participation of 120 to 400 workers per day.
The building has received total investment of VND5.5 trillion (US$258 million), with nearly VND3.5 trillion (US$164 million) having been disbursed.
Minister Dung said that there remains much to do in the last six months, so comprehensive measures and close co-ordination between relevant agencies are essential to ensure the progress, quality and efficiency and to finish the construction on schedule.
