Nam Dinh gets taste of Japanese cinema

NAM DINH (VNS) — Residents of Nam Dinh City have a chance to learn about Japan and its culture when the Days of Japanese Culture event opened yesterday with the screening of the movie Robot G in the city.


Organised by the Japan Foundation Centre for Cultural Exchange in Viet Nam, the event features two movie screenings and a photo exhibition.


Besides Robot G, the films Komaneko and Sinko and the One-Thousand-Year Miracle will be shown today at 8:30am and 10am, respectively.


The films are exhibited at the city’s Student Cinema Centre at 512 Truong Chinh Street. Entry to these films will be free for the public. All the films will be screened in the original Japanese language, with Vietnamese subtitles.


Alongside the films, the Days of Japanese Culture programme will also feature a photo exhibition showcasing Japan’s UNESCO heritage.


Titled Japanese Beauty, the exhibition opens today and will continue until February 28 at the Student Cinema Centre. — VNS
