Nhan Dan/VNA - As many as 60,000 tourists, including nearly 41,000 foreign visitors, visited the imperial Hue relic site in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue during the first three days of Tet.

Between January 31 and February 2, the city’s high-end hotels were filled nearly to capacity, with occupancy rates above 90 percent. The province as a whole currently possesses 526 lodging facilities, with some 10,000 rooms.

In addition to discovering more about Vietnam’s Tet festival, the visitors had the chance to enjoy a wide variety of traditional Vietnamese dishes, adding to the festive atmosphere in Vietnam’s ancient capital.

According to the Hue Relics Preservation Centre (HRPC), the tourists had an opportunity to join in the Lunar New Year’s Eve party, receive gifts and enjoy Tet feasts, such as the performance of Nha Nhac martial arts at the Duyet Thi Duong Theatre.

As in past years, the HRPC has offered free entrance to the Hue Citadel (Dai Noi), An Dinh Palace and all the imperial tombs between the first and third days of the traditional New Year.

The New Year’s activities have also included huge floral displays, demonstrations of Sea God worship and art exhibitions across the city and the nine other districts in the province.
