Ford Sales Rise 38%, Highest-ever monthly market share

Ford Vietnam Kicks-off Year on a High Note, Sales Rise 38 Percent to Deliver Highest-ever Monthly Market Share

Ford Vietnam today showed that its momentum has continued into 2014, announcing January retail sales that jumped 38 percent year-over-year to 954 units.

The strong start to the year helped Ford increase its market share in Vietnam by 0.9 of a percentage point versus a year ago to 8.6 percent, representing the company’s highest-ever monthly share.

“Our January performance helps set a strong, positive tone for the year, and reaffirms that we are offering a wide range of segment-leading global Ford vehicles that customers really want and value,” said Jesus Metelo Arias, managing director, Ford Vietnam.

Ford’s rugged all-new Ranger – the best-selling pickup truck in Vietnam in 2013 -continued to lead the segment in January with retail sales increasing 116 percent year-over-year to 272 units.

The versatile Ford Transit also continued to lead its segment in January with retail sales rising 78 percent to 239 units.

Fiesta sales increasing 40 percent to 134 units.

“The new Fiesta offers exactly what young and trendy consumers are looking for today in a small car – expressive, fun, smart, and with class-leading fuel economy,” said Arias.

The popular Ford Everest family SUV delivered another strong performance in January with sales increasing 77 percent year-over-year to 198 units, its highest monthly total since December 2011.
