Nhan Dan Online – A festival featuring the cultures of Vietnamese ethnic groups was held in Leipzig city, Germany on February 23, attracting many local residents and visitors.


Members of the Vietnamese Association of the city, the festival’s organiser, brought to the stage performances of Vietnamese martial arts, dan bau (mono chord) and traditional dances.


Speaking at the event, Vietnamese counselor to Germany Pham Viet Chien said that the fair illustrates the solidarity and unity of the Vietnamese community in Germany.


He hailed the organisers as ‘ambassadors of culture’ who have contributed to boosting the strategic co-operative relations between the two countries and people.


The city’s mayor, Uwe Albrecht, recounted the support he has received from the association and the Vietnamese Embassy during his visits to the Asian country.


He also expressed his hope to sign specific co-operation project with Vietnamese partners in the near future.
