On February 12, Deputy captain of IPR inspection team (team 4) – Anti-Smuggling Bureau of Investigation Tran Viet Hung said, team 4 has just handed over documents and exhibits including 31 fake watches with famous-brand names, such as CK, Rolex and etc, seized by Custom Department of Mong Cai border gate on January 24, 2014 for further investigates, processes under authority.
At 10: 45, January 24, 2014, team of IMPORTS-EXPORTS II procedures - Custom Department of Mong Cai border gate carried out inspection task with goods at area of Mong Cai international border gate.
In duty process, the team of custom officers found a suspected carton box that was put at waiting room – China-Vietnam direction (unowned goods). After announcing process to look for the box’s owner, but nobody arrived. The team decided to take it for further investigation.
After investigation process, the team found in carton box contained 31 watches including 10 CK, 2 Rolex and 14 Edifice brand name. This suspected carton box then was set minutes for further investigation and classification as required.
