The central coastal province of Phu Yen on January 19 put into operation Long Phu Bridge and An Ninh Dong sea dyke in Tuy An district, with total investment of 108 billion VND (5.07 million USD).
Long Phu Bridge, 2 kilometres long and 5.5 metres wide, cost 78 billion VND (3.6 million USD), mobilised from government bonds.
It is expected to facilitate the travelling and cargo transport of thousands of households along O Loan lagoon, especially during flood season, while providing a new route to the Ganh Da Dia (Cliff of Stone Plates) tourist spot in An Ninh Dong commune.
Meanwhile, the An Ninh Dong embankment has received investment of nearly 30 billion VND (1.4 million USD) from the Central budget capital under a programme to consolidate and upgrade the sea-dyke system from Quang Ngai province to Kien Giang province.
The 380-metre embankment is aimed to prevent flood tides and sea waves that have caused serious erosion over the years, and in doing so protect over 300 households in nearby Phu Hoi village.
Da Dia Cliff is located in coastal village 6, An Ninh Dong commune, Tuy An district.
The rocky cliff is about 50m wide and extends over 200m. Every stone here is shaped like a polygon and many are stacked in a vertical direction, forming impressive glossy columns of different heights.
Da Dia cliff is still untouched with hills, farms and village people living along the roads. The unspoiled landscape, natural stone, blue sea and cool climate make it a favourite destination for both domestic and foreign visitors.-VNA
