Both sides showed particular interest in the field as 70 percent of the RoK is covered by forest in comparison with Malaysia ‘s 60 percent, Palanivel noted in his statement on January 18.
The Malaysian minister invited the RoK to join reforestation activities in Malaysia , espeically in Cameron Highlands , where rampant illegal clearing of land has taken place over the years.
Big Korean corporations, namely Samsung, Daewoo and Hyundai, earlier had joined a variety of projects in Malaysia , he said.
The RoK also shows interest in other cooperative fields such as recycling waste water and treating industrial sewage before being discharged into rivers.-VNA
