Water chestnut birds with red neck originate in England, demonstrated an impressive flying ability after crossing 25,750 km journey to Peru and coming back.
Water chestnut birds with red-necks are one of the rarest birds that originate in British. They nest scatteredly in Shetlands and Western Isles regions.
Previously, experts said after the breeding season in Scotland, when the cold season come they start flying east towards the Arabian Sea.
However, tracking devices were installed on their bodies by the experts showed that a completely different route and the longer journey compared to the imagination of observers, helping this species win championship titles of European routes.
The bird species hold the world record is Sterna paradisaea, flying a total of 69,200 km between two poles.
