The name NYT is an abbreviation of New Year and Tet and it is a festival combining features of both Vietnamese and Western cultures. The organizer, SouthEast Entertainment, estimates 5,000 to 7,000 will attend the event and expects to hold the NYT Party annually.
Miami-based Japanese-American Aoki was one of world’s most popular DJs in 2013. He plays EDM (electro dance music) and was ranked eighth in the Top 100 DJs voted by DJMAG magazine last year. Aoki is on an Asian tour and this is the second time he has performed in Vietnam after a show in Hanoi last month. The organizer also aims to promote local tourism to the world by bringing Aoki to the event.
Audiences to the event can enjoy Aoki’s EDM tunes with the participation of DJs Kim-Kat, local seasoned DJ Hoang Anh and Tuan Kruise, Eks Viet, SLIM V and NIMBA.
It will also feature some spectacular visual shows by Tung Monkey in the open air arena of Saigon Zoo.
Furthermore, participants may find it interesting to watch Aoki throw cakes into the audience, his party piece.
