Many culture and sports activities will be held in provinces and cities nationwide to mark the lunar New Year 2014 and the 84th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

The southern province of Kien Giang will organize a ceremony to welcome the New Year’s Eve in Rach Gia City and Phu Quoc Island district with a television bridge connecting the continent with the islands. There will be dragon and lion performances, art performances and firework shows.


Hanoi City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will organize 90 artistic performances to serve people in districts and town in the city from January 30 to February 5 to welcome the 2014 Tet holiday.As many as 30 performances will be held at places where fireworks will be set off on January 30. From February 3-5, 60 performances will be held at stages, cultural centres, residential areas and remote areas in 28 districts and Son Tay town.


In the northern province of Quang Ninh, eight out of 14 localities in the province will release fireworks within 15 minutes of midnight on the Lunar New Year’s Eve 2014.There will 495 low range fireworks and 500 high range fireworks. In addition, art performances will be held localities in the province in the evening of January 30th.


The central province of Binh Dinh will organize a gala dinner on January 30th. Low range fireworks will be released within 15 minutes on January 31st. Tet flower market opened on January 22nd and will close in the evening of January 30th (the last day of the lunar year 2013). Art performances will be held in remote areas to serve local people.


In the southern province of Binh Duong, art performances will be held in the evening from January 29th to February 3rd (the 29th day of the 12th lunar month to the fourth day of the first lunar month).


From January 28th to February 2nd (the 28th day of the 12th lunar month to the sixth day of the first lunar month), a spring newspaper fair and fine arts and photo exhibition is being held./.
