Da Lat produce an alternative and healthy Tet gift
Green produce from Da Lat has become a popular gift for Vietnamese to give during Tet thanks to its clean and healthy quality.

In place of traditional foods, confectionaries, and beverages, many consumers in Ho Chi Minh City are opting to give fresh and clean produce grown under VietGAP (Good Agriculture Practice) or GlobalGAP standards in Da Lat this Tet.

Many produce companies in the Central Highlands city have opened stores in the southern city to seize the sales opportunity.

Nguyen Cong Thua, director of the Anh Dao Da Lat clean vegetable cooperative, said his HCMC store is selling up to 30 gift packages on a daily basis, gaining VND9 million (US$425) in daily revenues.

Thua said his customers want to buy authentic Da Lat produce instead of Chinese fruits and vegetables, which are currently rampant in the produce market.

The vegetables are healthy ingredients for recipients to use in their traditional Tet dishes, he added.

In a consumer view, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Ha, a resident of Tan Binh District, said giving fresh and clean produce to relatives in Tet is just like “wishing them good health.”
