A cozy Tet for the poor

Mr. Tong said, “Life is hard, but with the care from the State, my life is fairly better every time Tet comes, with the gifts from the province, my family also tries to buy some confectioneries to welcome the spring. As for the 100-year-old Vietnamese Heroic Mother Nguyen Thi Ngoc, who lives in Hoa Quang Bac, she feels so much touched when receiving the special gifts of the State President. Mr. Tran Thanh Binh, head of the Social patronizing division (Phu Yen department of labor-war invalids-social affairs), lets known: every time the spring comes and Tet is on the way, we double check the list of outstanding policy objects, poor families in the province to donate gifts. Besides, the units, benevolent people always prepare Tet gifts to donate to the poor. This is a very meaningful action to help the poor make more efforts in life. The gifts may not be large but partially add some happiness to these in need of help during the traditional Lunar New Year of the nation.

These days, in the province, there have been lots of activities to care for a happy Tet for the poor and policy families. Each unit, organization has practical activities. Mr. Nguyen Van Lang, director of Phu Yen department of labor-war invalids-social affairs, lets known “We are consecutively heading towards caring for the poor and policy objects to somehow help them less poor, try more to become fairly wealthy or even well-off. The activities for the poor conducted by the units, great donors in the past time have brought about lots of practical effects: thousands of houses have been built or repaired, lots of poor people have been provided medical care and treatment, and lots of children have been helped with schooling. This year, the province also extracts 10 billion dongs from the state budget to donate more than 24,000 gifts to the policy families, poor people, the 100-year-old elderly in the entire province. Particularly, the department of labor-war invalids-social affairs has allocated 330 tons of rice to help 3 regions that were over-flooded, which are Tuy An, Dong Xuan and Song Cau town; simultaneously allocating 232 tons of rice (of the total 676 tons of rice from the central government to support the people in the province) to 9 districts, town and city to help overcome starvation among the compatriots during the lunar New Year as well as between-crop periods 2014, to ensure for every family to have a cozy, safe and happy Tet.

The end-of-year activities are headed towards the poor, to join hands for helping the poor to have a happy new year with the very clear activities implemented from the advocacies and policies of the Party and state. Tet gifts for the poor bear the deep meaning of sharing, caring of the entire society. More happiness to the poor, the solitude elderly, the misfortunate children, the policy families with difficulties means more happiness for the entire society. Tet comes, spring is on the way, the poor compatriots have more Tet gifts from the Party and the State, which means the mutual affection and mutual help spirit is felt everywhere.
