HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Ha Noi Market Surveillance Agency’s market watch team No 1 yesterday confiscated over 410 bottles of foreign wine of “Ballantine” and “Chivas” brands in Dong Da District, Ha Noi.

The owner of these bottles, a resident of Kham Thien Street, failed to present the invoices and relevant documents for these wine bottles. There were also no stamps for imported wine on the bottles.

Nguyen Duc Ngai Ha, deputy head of the market surveillance team no. 1, said that all the wine bottles have been identified as illegally imports.

He added that the authorities will ask the concerned wine companies to verify the quality of the wine, and will later fine the owner of the bottles.

The wine bottles are estimated to be worth VND400-500 million, Ha said, adding that an investigation is under way.

Last week, the market surveillance team no.15, under Ha Noi Market Surveillance Agency, had also confiscated 330 wine bottles of “Vodka” and “Chivas” brands. Their owner failed to present invoices and relevant documents. The bottles, with fake verification stamps on them, were transported by bus from central Quang Tri Province to Ha Noi. — VNS
