DPRK seeks to attract Vietnamese tourists

At the Vietnam International Travel Mart 2019 that ran from March 27-30 in Hanoi, for the first time, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) carried out tourism promotion activities, hoping to attract more Vietnamese holidaymakers.

The booth of DPRK attracted many visitors and travel agents who want to know more about the country and its people. The country is known as the world’s mysterious nation, therefore tour packages to the country are expected to be popular.

Representatives of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s tourism delegation said the country’s tourism has seen progress in recent years with more tourism policies have been introduced in order to lure more tourists from Asian and Middle Eastern countries and the US, among others.

They also said the DPRK  has considered Vietnam a potential tourism market. It expects to welcome 3,000 Vietnamese touirsts this year, 10 times more than in 2018.-VNA
