Director of Dien Bien province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Pham Viet Dung said in order to accomplish this target, the tourism sector will continue to devise proper policies to encourage the economic sectors to invest in tourism activities, actively support businesses to diversify tourism products to lengthen tourists’ stay.
The province also plans to establish the provincial tourism association to strengthen connectivity among tourism businesses in association with community tourism development in rural and remote areas, and effectively cooperate with eight expanded north-western localities and major tourism hubs such as Hanoi and HCM City towards boosting cooperation with markets in Laos and Thailand.
Mr Dung also underscored the importance of training highly qualified human resources to meet the tourism demand in the future.
