Hanoi (VNS/VNA) – The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) is inviting hospitality enterprises involved in travel, hotel, transportation, catering and entertainment to join a programme to promote Vietnamese tourism in North America starting this September.

Hosted by the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT), the programme will take place in Toronto, Canada on September 17; in Washington DC on September 19; and in New York on September 21.

According to Dinh Ngoc Duc of the VNAT marketing department, the programme, part of a master plan to promote Vietnamese tourism in 2018, will help boost the number of tourists from this high-potential market.

He said that the events will also be an opportunity for Vietnamese tourist enterprises and those from Canada and the US to meet directly, thus enhancing their cooperation in the field.

Along with face-to-face meetings between hospitality companies and agencies, the agenda will also include a programme presenting famous tourist destinations in Vietnam and new tourist products and services. New State policies in tourism development will also be introduced to audiences.

All events will conclude with a feast of Vietnamese cuisine.

Last year, among 12.9 million international tourists visiting Vietnam were more than 138,000 visitors from Canada and 614,000 from the US. The figure from the US includes a significant number of overseas Vietnamese.-VNA
