International arrivals in July increase 41.2%

According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, the number of international visitors to Vietnam in July reached 846,311, up 41.2% compared to July 2015.

Of the total, the number of tourist air arrivals reached nearly 740,000, accounting for 87.4% (up 45.5% compared to July 2015); sea arrivals reached 11,528, accounting for 1.4% (up 51.8%); and road arrivals reached nearly 95,000, accounting for 11.2% (up 14.2%).

The total number of international visitors to Vietnam from January to July reached over 5.5 million, up 24% compared to the same period of 2015.

In comparison to July last year, the number of international visitors in this July increased in most of Vietnam’s markets, of which Hong Kong (China) recorded the sharpest increase of 111.8%, followed by China 54.5%, Thailand 37.2%, the Republic of Korea 37%, Laos 30.8%, Italy 30.4%, Sweden 24.3%, Spain 24.2%, the UK 23.4%, and Russia 22.5. The Cambodian market witnessed a decrease of 17.6%.

Also in July, total domestic tourists reached 38.2 million.

Total revenues from tourists during the first seven month this year is estimated at VND235 trillion (US$10.5 billion), up 22.9% over the same period in 2015.
