Some 21 trainees including 18 Vietnamese and three from the Philippines and Malaysia are participating in the first module of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)’s professional diploma coaching course, which opened in Hanoi on September 30.

At the opening ceremony, Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Vice Standing President Tran Quoc Tuan highlighted that the national coach committee and VFF have attached special importance to training activities to enhance Vietnamese coaches’ capability.

AFC and VFF have collaborated to organise training courses, conferences and workshops to equip local coaches with necessary knowledge and certificates to attend advanced training courses, he added.

AFC elite coaching instructor Lim Kim Chon spoke highly of VFF investment, underscoring that the trainees will update new knowledge, increase professional ability while seeking solutions to Vietnamese football’s current challenges through the course.

Meanwhile, AFC football conditioning instructor Abdolhossein Parnow will help improve physical strength of Vietnamese footballers, given crucial role of fitness in a successful match.

The course is divided into four modules, with the first module held until October 23 and other three modules scheduled in 2016 and 2017.
