With sleek designs and passenger-centric features, the new GLE and GLE Coupé are good choices in the mid-size luxury SUV segment for customers whether they ask for absolute comfort or driving experience. Especially, the GLE 400 4MATIC Coupé and the GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC Coupé are the first in the Vietnamese market to be equipped with the 9G-TRONIC transmission.

The ML-Class is the best-selling SUV of the “three-pointed star” brand with total sales amounting to more than 1.6 million units. Therefore, the new GLE implies itself lots of expectation of the manufacturer based in Stuttgart.

“State-of-the-art and efficient drive technology, combined with superior ride quality and the versatility and robustness typical for SUVs – the new GLE has all the ingredients to continue the success story of our best-seller,” said Ola Källenius, a member of the board of management of Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Cars.

The GLE 400 4MATIC is re-styled on most of the exterior details based on the ‘Sensual Purity’ design language.

The whole interacting space of the driver on the new GLE has been re-designed with leading technologies of Mercedes-Benz. The keyless-start function will become the standard feature on all GLE variants.

With the price of VND3.299 billion (including VAT), the GLE 400 4MATIC is a worth-buying midsize SUV with numerous standard features. However, for demanding customers, the open list with more than 20 items/functions will help them build a complete GLE by their own.

Or else, they can choose the GLE 400 4MATIC Exclusive with additional equipment thoroughly selected for Vietnamese customers, at the price of VND3.599 billion.

Meanwhile, with GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC Coupé, Mercedes-Benz is launching the new AMG Sport model product line. This is positioned between AMG Line and Mercedes-AMG Performance vehicles and enables customers to gain entry into the world of high performance cars.

The sporty character of the GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC Coupé is strongly defined via exterior details: front/rear AMG apron with silver chrome splitter; ‘AMG’ badge on the front wings; perforated brake discs at front & caliper covers with ‘Mercedes-Benz’ lettering; beltline and window weather-strip trim in black, AMG Spoiler lip, and the typical 21-inch AMG 5 twin-spoke light-alloy wheels.

The GLE 450 AMG 4MATIC Coupé costs VND3.999 billion.

This year also marks the 20th anniversary of Mercedes-Benz Vietnam (MBV). Its sales once again consolidates the success of the only premium carmaker which has built a factory in HCMC to fulfill its promises of investment expansion to retain its leading position in the luxury market segment.

Despite the fierce competition on Vietnam’s luxury car market over the past two years when a slew of players have entered the game, MBV has registered impressive growth. Last year and in the first six months of this year, the German carmaker was able to set new business records, which makes the celebration of its 20th anniversary in Vietnam more meaningful. 2014 was a successful year with almost 2,500 Mercedes-Benz cars delivered. The 43% growth in the year over 2013 lifted Vietnam to the top position in Mercedes-Benz’s fastest growing markets in Asia and the second position in the world.

In the first half of 2015, MBV gained unprecedented business results with more than 1,500 cars delivered, a year-on-year pickup of 37.6% in sales. The growth rate helped Mercedes-Benz’s market share rise from 54% to 72%.

Set up in 1995, MBV is the only luxury carmaker to operate a production line in Vietnam.

Since early this year, MBV has introduced 11 new car variants out of the 20 it plans to do in Vietnam.

Mercedes-Benz is the sole luxury car trademark to be present in all regions of Vietnam, not only in HCMC and Hanoi, but also in Haiphong, Danang, Nha Trang and Can Tho, to name just a few. MBV has strengthened its car dealership network, the largest in the luxury market, with 11 sales and services agents. This year, at least one more will join the network.

Eighteen member companies of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) and hundreds of parts suppliers will be participating in the Vietnam Motor Show this week.
