HA NOI (VNS) — Nguyen Ngoc Hiep of Viet Nam entered the long jump final at the ongoing International Paralympic Committee Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
Hiep will compete with strong rivals from China, Uzbekistan and Brazil in the men’s long jump T11 event today at the Suhaim Bin Hamad Stadium.
Earlier on Sunday, Hiep achieved his personal best of 56.91sec in the men’s 400m T11 heat.
Three more Vietnamese athletes are competing in the Doha championships.
Nguyen Thi Nhan will participate in the women’s long jump T11 on Thursday.
On Friday, Cao Ngoc Hung will take part in the men’s javelin throw F56, while Nguyen Be Hau will compete in the men’s javelin throw F57 event.
Last week, Hau pocketed a bronze medal, the first for Viet Nam at the championships, in the men’s discus throw F57. — VNS
