Chairman of Quang Ngai PPC has just approved the Scholarship Program to Enhance Literacy and Learning (SPELL) for school year of 2015-2016 in the province.
The program’s objective is to provide the studious and poor students with greater opportunities and incentives to stay in school, reduce the school dropout rates by providing full funding for students who otherwise cannot afford school, improve the quality of education for poor students from primary to high school, encourage the participation and support of local communities in the education of students
Accordingly, with the total capital of nearly VND 2.2 billion funded by the East Meets West (EMW), the program will grant 105 scholarships to students in four districts of Binh Son, Son Tinh, Minh Long and Quang Ngai city in this school year.
Each scholarship includes the costs of studying, uniforms, books, notebooks, stationeries and bicycles for students.
This program is annually implemented in Quang Ngai province by EMW from 2003. Its objective is to provide the poor studious students with greater opportunities and incentives to go to school, contributing to minimizing the number of students with difficult circumstances dropping out of school.
