Party leader holds talks with US President

Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and US President Barrack Obama held talks at the Oval Office of the White House in Washington in the morning of July 7 (local time).

The two leaders rejoiced at the positive and robust development in the countries’ friendship and cooperation in the spirit of putting the past behind, overcoming differences, promoting similarities, and looking towards the future.

They exchanged opinions and agreed on major directions to foster bilateral ties and deepen and diversify the comprehensive partnership in the time to come.

Cabinet leader welcomes Lao Vice President

PM Nguyen Tan Dung said the current visit of Lao Vice President Bounnhang Vorachith will give new momentum to the time-honoured friendship, special solidarity and all-faceted cooperation between the two nations.

Receiving the Lao State official in Ha Noi on July 7, PM Dung hailed the comprehensive outcomes in bilateral cooperation.

He reiterated that Viet Nam is resolved to join hands with Laos to reinforce their partnership in a result-oriented manner.

People to grade public administration services

The Viet Nam Fatherland Front (VFF), the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Central Viet Nam Veterans Association on July 6 in Ha Noi jointly launched a program where the satisfaction of public administration services in 2015 is assessed by people.

The program will cover the fields of administration public services and be involved by 15,000 local residents in seven provinces and three big cities namely Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang.

Tourism sector marks 55th anniversary

The Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) held a ceremony to mark the 55th founding anniversary of the sector in Ho Chi Minh City on July 7 as part of activities to raise public awareness of the role of tourism in the country’s socio-economic development.

The event also helped encourage responsibility and creativity among tourism officials to contribute to developing the sector sustainably.

The VNAT also launched a promotional campaign themed “Vietnamese people travel around Viet Nam”.

Largest manufacturing solutions show opens

The 2015 Viet Nam Metrology, Tools & Automation (MTA) Show, the largest on manufacturing solutions in the country, opened in Ho Chi Minh City on July 7 with the participation of 350 exhibitors from 20 nations and territories.

The 14th exhibition showcases state-of-the-art products and machines in metal cutting and shaping and tools for Viet Nam’s manufacturing industry.

It features 10 booths from Germany, Singapore, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), and India. It also highlights Japanese brands like Aizaki, Asada, Kira, PMT, Mishima and Towa.

Viet Nam Arlines receives Boeing 787 Dreamliner

A ceremony to hand over the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to Viet Nam Airlines by Boeing company was held at Ronald Reagan Airport on July 7 in the presence of Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong who is in the US for an official visit.

Boeing 787-9 will conduct return flights between Hanoi and HCM City and those on the first international air route between Viet Nam and London.

VNA will be the first in Southeast Asia using Boeing 787-9 for direct flights to Europe. It will also be the first airlines in Asia-Pacific region operating Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A350-900 XWB./.
