Da Nang resort wins Best Achievement in Design award from Virtuoso Hotels

The InterContinental Da Nang Sun Peninsula Resort has won the “Best Achievement in Design” award organized by Virtuoso Hotels & Resorts in Virtuoso Life magazine.

The resort, located 600 metres above sea level on the Son Tra Peninsula in the central city, was among the top five for the design awards including resorts from Chinese Taipei, Japan and the Netherlands.

Virtuoso, the international network of luxury travel agencies, has announced the nominees for its prestigious “Best of the Best” awards, which recognizes the industry’s top properties and hoteliers.

It also represents the highest standard in their given category as only 50 properties are under consideration for the awards.

As scheduled, the awards ceremony will be held at Bellagio Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, on August 12.

The Da Nang-based resort, which was designed by architect Bill Bensley, also won four awards in various categories at the World Travel Awards last year.

In 2012, Conde Nast Traveller chose the resort as one of the 154 best new hotels in the world.

The resort hosted a three-day vacation of billionaire financier George Soros in 2012.
