Owning wonderful beaches, Vietnam's central region is expected to be hot destination for tourists in the future (illustrative photo)

The Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism has recently held a conference announcing the master planning of tourist development in south central coast until 2020 and vision to 2030.

South Central Coast region includes 7 provinces and cities of Danang and Quang Nam , Quang Ngai , Binh Dinh, Phu Yen , Khanh Hoa , Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan with total area of 44,376.9km² .

According to Deputy Minister of Culture and Sport Dang Thi Bich Lien, the overall objective of the plan is to exploit the potential and advantages of the region to develop sea and islands tourism, to be the leading strength of Vietnam’s tourism; build up as many as modern tourist cities , tourist resorts , national tourist facilities with superior service .

It is strived that to 2020 tourism becomes an important economic sector and in 2030 become a key economic sector in the economic structure of the region.

The goal is that by 2020 it will attract about 15 million visitors to the Central Coast region; of which there will be about 4.5 million international passengers.

To 2030 the region will attract about 25 million visitors, of which there will be about 7.5 million international passengers .

Total income from tourism services by 2020 is expected to reach 70,000 billion VND and to 2030 it is estimated to reach 160,000 billion VND.
