Vietnam had an easy 6-0 win over Brunei as the 2015 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games’ men’s football kicked off at the Bishan Stadium in Singapore on Friday afternoon.

Facing a weaker Brunei with most players are young students, Vietnam easier dominated the match right from the beginning.

In the 25th minute, Thang Binh scored a goal for Vietnam from an easy pass from Ngoc Thang.

Brunei mostly played defensive with long passes in sudden attack, which led to a dangerous shot over the bar by Hamir in the 43rd minute.

Vietnam’s coach Toshiya Miura sent Cong Phuong to the field in the second half and the Hoang Anh Gia Lai striker had a good free kick for Phi Son to score with a header in the 47th minute.

Vietnam had a chance to score a goal with a penalty in the 62nd minute, when Cong Phuong’s shot failed.

In the 64th minute, Mac Hong Quan was sent to the field as Coach Miura wanted more goals.

In the 75th minute, Quan scored the third goal for Vietnam after defeating Brunei goalkeeper Ahsanuddin.

Only two minuts later, Duc Huy, who has been playing actively on the left side, scored the fourth goal for Vietnam.

In the 82th minute, Cong Phuong scored his first goal at the 2014 SEA Games, increasing goal difference to 5-0.

Manh Hung scored the sixth and final goal for Vietnam from a long distance shot in the 89th minute.

Vietnam will play against Malaysia in its next Group B match on June 2.
