NDO – The Muong Cultural Heritage Museum, aiming to preserve and promote the value of Muong people’s cultural heritages, inaugurated on April 4 in Thai Binh precinct, Hoa Binh city, Hoa Binh province.


The museum is managed by Bachelor of Culture Bui Thanh Binh, serving the study, collection, preservation and showcasing of cultural heritages of Muong people, as well as organising activities on the culture and cuisine of the Muong ethnic group.


The museum, at 4,000 square metres, is the second private museum in the locality and the 24th in Vietnam. The construction includes six main buildings with various functions.


The cultural space currently displays 5,000 artifacts, including a thousand-year-old bronze drum, gongs and pottery.


The Muong are the fourth largest of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic group with an estimated population of 1.3 million.


The Muong people inhabit the northern mountainous region, mainly in Hoa Binh and some mountainous districts of northern central Thanh Hoa province.
