The elderly organizations at all level in the province have mobilized for constructing 739 houses for poor households with elderly people with the total amount of over 22 million dongs; nearly 13,000 turns of the elderly have been given medical check-up, medical treatment, free eye-operation with the total amount of nearly 3 billion dongs; more than 32,000 elderly people are issued medical booklets and periodical health check-up. Till the end of 2014, the total caring fund for the elderly at all levels in the province has been nearly 5 billion dongs…
Addressing at the ceremony, standing deputy chairman of the Provincial Party Committee highly appreciated the achievements of the elderly of the province in the past time. On the 20th anniversary of the establishment day of Vietnam elderly association, Comrade Huynh Tan Viet conveyed the best regards to the elderly with the best wished. Simultaneously, Comrade Viet hoped that the elderly association would constantly develop the roles of “old age-shining examples”, continue to make practical contributions to the development of the homeland and nation.
On this occasion, the PPC warded merit certificates to 12 collectives and individuals for excellent achievements in the patriotic emulating movement of “old age-shining examples” in the period of 2010-2015.
