Japan, Vietnam cooperate in cartography

Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Nguyen Linh Ngoc highlighted the long history of cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in various fields, including natural resources and environmental protection.


(VOV) -The Vietnam Department of Survey and Mapping (VDSM) and the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) have agreed to exchanging cartography experience.


Ngoc said the cooperation between the two agencies will pave the way for conducive experience exchange in cartography as well as tightening partnership between the two countries.


For his part, GSI Deputy Director-General Masaki Murakami affirmed Japan’s willingness to share experience and information with Vietnam and expressed his belief in in their future bilateral cooperation.


The two sides consented to establish a legal framework for cartography and develop fundamental infrastructures for surveying services and the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) and build the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).
