Among which, the festival of gong culture, folk music and traditional musical instruments is one of the most attractive programs. 10 communes, town lets in the district brought to the festival 10 gong teams, 10 concert programs and distinguishing Arap dance. Right in the middle of Hai Rieng townlet, there’s one great gong team of Le Diem village, which is one of the localities being recognized as the very first cultural villages of Song Hinh district. 100% of households of Le Diem village are of E De group. The compatriot community here have become one address to be visited by the tourists near and far. It can be said that Le Diem village is the face, the outstanding village of Song Hinh land.

Within the frame of 2015 Song Hinh cultural-tourism week, there are lots of cultural and sports activities attracting lots of people who come either to contest or support; the less particular content is the cuisine festival. With the theme “Intensive features of the homeland”, the cuisine festival introduced nearly 100 traditional and special dishes of the ethnic compatriots. Among which, such special brands as milpa rice, hot and salty beef, green bamboo shoot cooked with stream fish, ..are so impressive. Mr. Nguyen Van Bong, deputy head of Phu Yen cook branch, assessed, “the dishes entering for the festival are plentiful with particular ways of processing. The striking and carving-deep-impression feature is the way of processing the traditional dishes with the locality’s materials”.

Through the 2015 Song Hinh cultural-tourism week, thousands of tourists from other provincial localities have chances to know about the Western land of Phu Yen province. According to Mr. Phan Thanh Quyen, implementing the scheme of developing the district’s tourism, so far, the region of central lake, the square, Le Diem village have been renovated and invested to become venues of organizing cultural, entertainment activities and events to serve the district’s population. One modern bridge crossing the lake and connecting Le Diem village has been completed. Determining Le Diem village as one of the striking features in the tourism route to Song Hinh, the district is continuing to construct Le Diem to become one cultural-tourism village. From which, the gong team has been constantly consolidated, with experiences and skills being transferred to the 12-to-14-year-old students; restoring the traditional profession of weaving handicraft mosaic products, brewing liquor with leaves, forest tree branches; propagating to the inhabitants to well implement the task of environmental hygiene around houses, streets and public places…

The scheme of constructing Le Diem village into one cultural and tourism village has been gradually implemented and so far the locality has welcome lots of tourists from afar. Hopefully, in the near future, Song Hinh district in general and Le Diem village in particular become the “must-to-visit” sightseeing and tourism destination for tourists whenever setting foot to Phu Yen province.
