Cop car kills 2 pedestrians in northern Vietnam

Police in Tuyen Quang Province are investigating an accident in which a car, belonging to a local police team, allegedly hit two pedestrians and claimed both their lives on Sunday.

The car, a Nissan pickup truck, was driven by a patrol officer at around 3 p.m. in Tuyen Quang Town when it suddenly ran into two local men walking on the right side of the road.

One was killed immediately while the other was thrown into a paddy field nearby, Dan Tri news website reported. He succumbed to multiple injuries soon later.

Investigators are looking into what caused the accident.
