General Director of VTV Tran Binh Minh (left) receives the order (Source: tienphong.vn)




On June 10, French Ambassador to Vietnam Jean Noel Poirier presented France’s National Order of Merit to General Director of the national Vietnam Television (VTV) Tran Binh Minh to recognize contribution to boosting audiovisual cooperation between the two countries.


Mr. Minh had made contribution to the development and promotion of the connection between the VTV and its French counterparts, especially in training activities with the support of the Canal France International, the French operator in media cooperation.


In 2013, commitments between the two sides were specifically implemented through training course, which brought achievements for VTV6 channel for the youth.


VTV is the partner of the K+ satellite channels, the success of the cooperation between VTV and French’s channel Canal+.


Mr. Minh said that the cooperation between VTV and Canal+ is not only the cooperation between the two units but also the cooperation between French and Vietnamese government. Despite of difficulties, so far, the cooperation product has obtained remarkable achievements.


Founded in 1963, the National Order of Merit honours French citizens and foreign nationals for their distinguished civil or military achievements to France./.
