Presenting book on General Vo Nguyen Giap to his families and units

On June 9, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Information and Communications presented a photo book on General Vo Nguyen Giap to his family and representatives of units.

The Vietnam – English photo book was first published in 2011 to mark the 100^th anniversary of the General’s birth. The 230-page book has 350 photos about the General’s life and career.

In May 2014, the book was reprinted. In this reprinting, the Authority of Foreign Information Service under the Ministry of Information and Communication supplanted 40 rare photos, including the photo about the General at the meeting with mother Suot at a congress in 1966, photos about the General on patient’s bed and photos about moved moment showing people’s love and admire during the General’s funeral.

The book was present to the Office of General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Vo Nguyen Giap’s family, Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee, Le Thuy district People’s Committee, Vietnam Military History Museum, Border Guard Museum, Navy Museum, National Library of Vietnam, Hanoi Library, Vietnamese War Veterans’ Association, Hanoi City War Veterans’ Association, Authority of Politics under the Navy High Commands, and the Authority of Politics under the High Command of the Border Guard./.
