Nhan Dan Online – The week-long Vietnam Seafood Festival 2014, which attracted the participation of over 10,000 domestic and foreign visitors, closed in Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province on April 2.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Phu Yen provincial People’s Committee, Tran Quang Nhat hailed the festival as an ideal platform for fishermen to exchange their experience in exploiting, conserving and processing sea products, especially tuna.
In addition to honouring the sea regions’ cultural heritage, the event also offered a good chance for enterprises to seek co-operation opportunities and expand their markets, he added.
Among main activities taking place during the festival were an exhibition displaying materials on Truong Sa (Spratly) and Hoang Sa (Paracel) archipelagos and seminars discussing policies to promote the development of the fisheries sector.
The festival was jointly organised by the People’s Committee of Phu Yen province, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
